ErgoMine 2.1

ErgoMine is a tool designed to assist mining companies in conducting comprehensive ergonomics assessments for bagging, maintenance, repair, and haul truck operations. The platform primarily addresses injury risks associated with material handling, workplace policies, design considerations, and incidents such as slips, trips, and falls, while also identifying other ergonomic deficiencies.

This application features a structured series of questionnaires that analyze responses to generate valuable insights, tailored recommendations, and targeted resources aimed at enhancing workplace safety and ergonomics.

Developed by researchers from the Pittsburgh Mining Research Division of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, ErgoMine's assessments and guidelines draw upon a broad spectrum of sources including laboratory research, field studies, injury and fatality data, consensus standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

The design of the audits ensures that they can be effectively performed by mine personnel responsible for safety management without requiring specialized expertise in ergonomics.
